Ships from overseas. Free postage starts at $29.99, so it isn't $8.99. Returns close after 14 days and go back overseas at your cost.
Ships free from our US warehouse. Free returns for 30 days, no questions, we pay the postage back.
If you're buying a lock, you didn't plan to wait three weeks for it.
Three seconds. In the dark. Every time.
No screws, no adhesive, no drilling. It uses the hole that's already in your door frame.
Open the door
Find the strike plat, the metal plate on the frame with the hole your latch slides into. It's already there.
Slot the plate in
Slide the steel plate into that hole. Pick the slot that matches your latch, there are two sizes for a reason.
Close it and lock
Shut the door, drop the red handle over the plate. A key from the outside now turns and does nothing.
Will it fit your door?
Most bad reviews of this product are the same story: it didn't fit, and nobody warned them. Three questions. We'd rather lose the sale than send you the wrong thing.
Three questions about your door
Roughly two-thirds of failures with portable door locks come down to fit, not quality. Every competitor buries that in an FAQ. We'd rather tell you up front and keep the review.
One lock, or two.
Two bought singly is $49.98. The pair is $34.99, and it covers your bedroom as well as the way in.
The door that worries you. Usually the way in.
- 1× stainless steel lock
- Silicone frame caps
- Carry pouch
Front door and bedroom. Or keep one, give one to whoever you worry about.
- 2× stainless steel locks
- Silicone frame caps ×2
- Carry pouch ×2
What renters say.
Took me a minute to work out which hole to use, then it's obvious forever. Not a deadbolt and it doesn't pretend to be. Does what it says.
My building manager has a key and lets himself in for "inspections." Front door, takes a second, and I don't lie awake listening anymore. It fit my apartment door but not my bathroom.
The honest answers.
Will this damage my door or frame?
No. Nothing screws in, nothing sticks. The steel plate sits in the hole that's already in your frame, and silicone caps sit between the metal and the paint. It leaves when you do.
Does it work on outward-opening doors?
No. It works by blocking the door from swinging inward. On an outward-opening door it does nothing. Same for sliding and bifold doors. Run the fit check above before you buy.
Can someone with a key still get in?
The key will turn. The door won't open. That's the point, it's a second lock that only exists while you're inside the room, so it can't be defeated from the hallway.
What if it doesn't fit my door?
Send it back within 30 days and we refund it, including return shipping. We'd rather eat that cost than argue with you about your door frame.
Is it safe in a fire or emergency?
It releases from the inside by lifting the handle — one motion, no key. But like any secondary lock, it can slow down emergency responders trying to reach you. Remove it when you leave the room, and think about that trade-off before using it on a bedroom you sleep in.
How strong is it, really?
It's stainless steel and it will resist a shove far better than a chain latch. It is not a deadbolt and we won't pretend it is. It buys you noise and time, which is what a secondary lock is for.
Fit and safety. Designed for inward-opening hinged doors with a standard metal strike plate and a door-to-frame gap of at least 3mm. Not compatible with outward-opening, sliding, or bifold doors, or frames without a strike plate. This is a secondary security device, not a replacement for a deadbolt, and it is not certified to any forced-entry standard. Any secondary lock may delay emergency personnel from entering the room. Remove before leaving.
